The Miami Climate Alliance (MCA) is a local non-profit organization that focuses on climate change, sea-level rise, and the issues Miami communities face due to the effects of climate change.

The MCA is comprised of an alliance of other local organizations, local chapters of national organizations, and community members who see the value in changing city and state legislation to reflect the reality of climate change and the importance of our communities.

The goal of this project is to provide the MCA with a web design and content overhaul to better reflect the organization’s mission and values, and to bring awareness to the local communities it serves.

Below are brief explanations of our development process and samples of the work we have done for the MCA site so far.

Phase 1: Strategize & Develop

During Phase 1, our goal was to understand and cater to the MCA’s needs, their goals for the organization, and who their audience is. After developing a relationship with and an understanding of the organization’s leadership team, we set out to address their needs by creating a site map that gave our project focus and the organization an idea of where we’re headed.

Phase 2: Website Design

Now that Phase 1 has been completed, we have moved on to Phase 2. During this phase, we take the approved site map from Phase 1 and apply it. Page by page, the site is created to reflect the organization’s branding and mission, as well as the content structure provided in the site map plan.

As we are still at the beginning of Phase 2, there is more work to be done and showcased here. As more of the project is completed, this project page will be updated.
